A Wuss? I don't think so...

So it was recently brought to my attention by my son's soccer coach that he thinks my son is a wuss. A wuss? Yeah, ok. So maybe he's not as aggressive as some other players and maybe, just maybe when he gets hurt he stays flat on the ground for an extra minute or two, and maybe he doesn't push opposing players back when they push him. But a "wuss" - I don't think so.

I wanted so badly to tell this coach that his definition of a "wuss" is obviously different than my own. After all, this is the kid who went through 2 1/2 years of chemotherapy, spinal taps, bone marrow aspirations. This is a kid who's childhood was basically robbed from him - as he fought a very courageous battle against a form of childhood cancer. And this is is a kid - who saw death all around him with the various kids at the clinic succumbing to their illness, while he was fighting for his own life.

A "wuss"? No - I think he's one of the most amazingly courageous, tough, brave young men you'll ever meet in your life.
