American Idol

I'm pretty excited that the new season of American Idol has started - but after watching the first 2 episodes last night & Tuesday night - I'm not so sure I'm going to be all that into it this season. Surely some of these contestants know that they can't sing worth a damn, but why why why why why would they put themselves (and the viewers) through the torture? I think the two contestants that scared me the most last night were Darwin Reedy (the lady with the gold shirt who should have really worn a bra and who auditioned with her mother standing right beside her) and Melissa Stavros (who stuffed herself into some black/pink netty looking outfit) - not only were they dressed horribly - but they couldn't sing at all - as was the case for the majority of the contestants from Seattle & Minneapolis.

It's pretty apparent hat the producers of American Idol focus on the horrible peformers for the sake of pure entertainment. Truthfully - performers like the majority of those shown on TV last night, know they can't sing. They simply go to get their 15 minutes of fame, knowing that they aren't going to go any further on the show.

Come on American Idol, stop wasting our time & your time - let's make the show more about the true entertainers and performers!
